Summer 2012 travel plans

My plans for this summer are getting pretty crazy. I originally signed up for another EF trip to do the Greek Isles in July. Thailand was also on my list of EF trips that I wanted to do but I was only planning on signing up for it if my friend Gillian, whom I met on the Costa Rica trip, would sign up for it too.

All it took was one comment on Shauns Facebook status that made my travel plans for the summer to go from exciting to extravagant! In a nutshell, this one post allowed me to find out that Jessie was already booked for the Thailand trip I wanted to go on. This caused a snowball effect and Shaun, Karina, and I all jumped on board too. It was like the Grand Tour all over again!

After some planning with my calendar I now find myself signed up for two summer trips: 11 days in the Greek Isles and 14 days in Thailand. I then gained some new information and found out that the group going to Thailand already had some serious before and after plans that included going to the full moon party at Koh Phangan and Bali before the trip and Koh Phi Phi after the trip. This meant that the 14 day Thailand trip is now turning into 23 days. Will my first paid summer off leave me with any time to relax? How will I even pay for all of this? I don’t know the answers to those questions but I DO know that in the end it will be worth it and I will have another summer full of unforgettable memories!

Summer 2012 Itinerary:

Greek Isles: June 9- June 19
Full Moon Party: July 3-July 5
Bali: July 6- July 10
Thailand July 10- July 22
Koh Phi Phi July 22- July 25

The Birth of the Travel Bug

How this amazingly awesome hobby all started!

I have always loved visiting new places. I guess I owe the start of this passion from my Grandparents who used to take me on long road trips and plane flights around all areas of the country. Yes this sure did make me realize how much I loved going to an unknown area but it wasn’t until the summer of 2010 when I REALLY got bit by the travel bug. And I’m not talking about some little “ant bite”…we are talking about a hard core, extremely oversized bite that undoubtedly felt far to good to ignore. Ah yes, it was then when I realized that this is what I was meant to do. After one 9hr plane flight to London, I new that it was only going to be the beginning of lifelong pursuit to reach an array of mysterious places that would fill my desire to explore my unknown.

Although anyone is welcome to read this blog, I am not doing it for anyone else except myself. It is to document the fulfillment of my passions and so I can reflect back on my adventures and think “damn, I had the time of my life!”. That’s what living is all about right?...Loving the life you live, and living the life you love! And for me, what I love in life is the feeling of being anonymous in an unknown city and exploring places that I never thought in a million years I would get the chance to visit.

Join me if you wish to follow along with my adventures and I hope it just might inspire you to do something that makes you happy and that makes your life worth loving!
